The Keimyung University symphony orchestra performed a Polish film music concert from May 18 to 19 in Keimyung Art Center along with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music Symphony Orchestra.

The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music is a traditional music university that has produced renowned musicians. They visited Korea to celebrate the 118th annviersary of Keimyung Universtiy. Both universities have worked closely since 1992. The concert performed music from films composed by the Polish composer Krzesimir Debski, famous for popular film music, jazz, and classical music in Poland. In the concert, patriotic songs which had been used as background music from four films were performed, as well as traditional Korean song Arirang.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Polish independence, and the 30th anniversary of the Korea-Poland relationship, the 4th Asia-Pacific International Chopin Piano Competition will be held in 2018 at Keimyung University. Future artistic events from this bilateral relationship are expected.
