  1. Course Description
    뵨 교과목은 학생들의 비지니스 관련 글쓰기, 토플/토익을 위한 시간제한 글쓰기, 입학지원 에세이, 학문적 글쓰기 등의 연습에 중점을 둔 과목이다.
  2. Course Objectives
    The objective of this course is to provide undergraduate students with an appreciation of the importance of writing for success in the modern workplace. As Martha Coven states, "Writing is an essential skill in today's workplace. We rely on words more than ever in the digital-age workplace, on messaging platforms and social media as well as in classic forms like memos and reports" (p. 1). In addition, the course is designed to furnish students with the major skills they will need both to find a job and to perform it effectively. In this regard, by the end of the course, the students will have gained experience in producing common workplace documents such as resumes, emails, and memos. They will also have gained an appreciation and understanding of the importance of clarity, conciseness, and tone in their writing and how they organize their ideas. In addition, they will have begun to develop a professional style which can be adapted to different audiences and purposes.
  3. Teachnig Method
    Regular attendance and active participation in the class are expected. Assignments should be submitted on time and must be the student's own work. Plagiarism and excessive use of translation software (Papago) and AI (ChatGPT) will not be tolerated.

    Students registering for this course should have some experience of writing in English, at least to the paragraph level, and be willing to work together with other students and the instructor during class. This is not a lecture class, and active student participation is both necessary and expected. In addition, it would be advantageous for students to have a general idea of the type of job they hope to secure upon graduation.
  7. Practical application of the course
    Students taking this course will be able to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained to to their working/professional lives. In the first place, they will be better able to present themselves on the job market and enhance the possibility of securing their desired position. In addition, they will be able to communicate effectively, both with their colleagues and potential clients, and be able to adapt to a variety of workplace tasks/situations.
