- Course Description
- Course Objectives
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles and concepts of chemistry.
Its primary objective is to equip students with the essential knowledge of chemistry that serves as the foundation for pharmaceutical sciences, preparing them for their future roles as pharmacists.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. Understand and apply the fundamental principles of matter, energy, and measurement in chemistry.
2. Describe the structure of atoms, molecules, and ions, and their roles in chemical reactions.
3. Solve stoichiometry problems and evaluate reactions in aqueous solutions.
4. Analyze and calculate energy changes in chemical reactions using thermochemical principles.
5. Explain the electronic structure of atoms and its relationship to the periodic properties of elements.
6. Articulate the basic concepts of chemical bonding and molecular geometry through bonding theories.
7. Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by applying chemical concepts to practical scenarios.
- Teachnig Method
We will attend two hours of scheduled classroom sessions per week throughout this academic term.
Following each class, you can expect assigned homework to reinforce what we've covered. (action learning)
Additionally, if the need arises, we may incorporate blended learning (BL) with online classes.
