  1. Course Description
    이 과정은 학생들의 비판적 사고 능력을 개발하고, 대학 수준 이상에서 영어를 효과적으로 사용하는 데 필요한 기술을 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이에 따라, 다양한 현대적 주제에 대한 의미있는 토론을 진행할 수 있는 능력을 향상시키려고 한다. 또한, 학생들의 어휘와 언어 자원을 개발하여 자신의 관점을 더 효과적으로 표현하고 의미 있는 발표를 할 수 있도록 하려고 한다. 이 과정의 또 다른 목표는 다양한 대화 전략의 개발을 통해 학생들이 대화 상호작용을 더 능숙하게 관리할 수 있도록 돕는 것이다.
  2. Course Objectives
    This class helps you to 1. Speak English clearly and talk about many different topics 2. Improve your English vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar 3. Communicate with others naturally by using common conversation strategies and idioms
  3. Teachnig Method
    English English is the language we use in class. Minus points for use of other languages. Participating in class discussions and activities is graded. Be active in class and ask / answer questions. Smartphones & Class Etiquette Set your phone to silent mode during class. You can use it ONLY for study studying. POINTS are deducted from your final score if you talk or send messages on your phone, leave class without explanation, fail to take part in tasks, don't speak, or behave rudely. Texts Bring textbook, notepad, and pen to every class. Keep class handouts in a file for future reference. Assessment You lose 5 POINTS right away if you don't give your speech or do your final interview on the scheduled day. You get a ZERO score for any task you don't complete. If you can't do an assessment, you must contact me in ADVANCE to explain why. Cheating Generating sentences through AI and memorising them for an assessment is UNACCEPTABLE and results in MAJOR POINT DEDUCTIONS!

    To pass this course you must: Do all major assessments. Attend a minimum of 2/3 of scheduled classes. If you miss more than 10 classes without providing admin-approved certification, you get an F.
  7. Practical application of the course
    This course prepares you for the spoken components of the TOEIC, TOEFL, and IELTS tests. In addition, you will be able to utilise the conversation skills learned in this class in a variety of real-life situations. These include having informal conversations with native speakers, taking interviews in English, and using functional English when working, studying, or travelling in an English-speaking country.
