COMMUNICATION ENGLISH Ⅲ

  1. Course Description
    This program is designed to give students the confidence and ability to communicate in everyday English conversations. This program focuses on practical daily conversation. In this class we will approach language learning through presentation, reinforcement, and expansion of communication forms and structures that promote the gradual but secure development of the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills gained in previous classes.
  2. Course Objectives
    This is an English conversation course with the express aim of developing the student's spoken English skills. Starting from the first lesson, students will be encouraged to actively participate in class, following structures provided by the instructor, in order to develop their existing knowledge of English. By the end of the semester, students should feel more comfortable and at ease communicating in English.
  3. Teachnig Method
    1. Be respectful to each other when speaking/conversing in pairs/small groups 2. Participate and be attentive in class. Communication is a two-way street. Ask questions and don't be shy! 3. Students lose grade points for being late or absent, phone calls/text messaging, having no textbook or sleeping.

    Obtaining a new copy of the course textbook is mandatory. Keeping a notebook/journal would be recommended to take additional notes in class and to write down new vocabulary/expressions for reviewing and learning.
  7. Practical application of the course
    As English is now the de facto common language used around the world in business, engineering, or other communication situations between different groups of nationalities, this course should prove beneficial in both professional and leisure activities, whether the student needs to communicate with a foreign business partner or just order a meal in a restaurant. The student should also feel more comfortable using English or dealing with foreigners after completing this course.
