INTERNATIONAL TOURISM AND CULTURE

  1. Course Description
    세계경제와 국제관계에 있어 관광 및 문화에 대한 이해는 필수적 요소로서 세계 주요국가의 관광과 문화의 특징에 대한 이론과 실무에 대해 학습한다. 이를 통해 국제감각을 넓히고 국제 관광인으로서의 자세를 확립하는데 목표가 있다.
  2. Course Objectives
    At the end of the semester, students are expected to: - Comprehend the multifaceted nature of tourism and its many definitions. - Define, understand, and explore various terminologies and concepts associated with tourism. - Examine the historical progression of travel and tourism and its impact on the world. - Analyze the different components of the tourism industry. - Identify the factors that drive travel and tourism, and recognize their significance as generators of tourism. - Assess and appreciate tourism’s impact as a global, economic, environmental, cultural, political, and social force. - Describe the roles and functions of industry and government organizations that support tourism at the regional, national, and international levels. - Differentiate and categorize tourism-related products and describe their role in supporting tourism. - Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the essence and value of tourism.
  3. Teachnig Method
    1. Smartphones should be used solely for academic purposes, such as referencing dictionaries or engaging in classroom activities. Personal use for calls, messaging, or gaming is strongly and highly discouraged. 2. Leaving the class without the professor's permission is permitted only in cases of emergency or f sudden illness arises. 3. Punctuality is important. Being late to class will result in being marked as such. Three instances of lateness will be considered as one unexcused absence. 4. Any form of cheating is strictly discouraged and will not be tolerated. 5. Enjoy and actively participate in the class!

    Prerequisites for enrollment in this class include a fundamental level of English communication skills and proficiency in digital literacy. Given the student-centered nature of the course, active participation in class activities and discussions is strongly encouraged.
