THE CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW

  1. Course Description
    A worldview (Weltanschauung) is a broad perspective through which a person sees and understands the world. This course will help students to understand life in the world from a Christian perspective, which is shaped by the biblical themes of creation, fall, and redemption. Students will learn how to use this Christian worldview to understand critically and theologically subjects such as anthropology, psychology, ethics, history, and the world religions. The Christian worldview will be compared also with competing worldviews such as secular-humanism, Marxist-Leninism, post-modernism, and Islamism.
  2. Course Objectives
    At the end of the course, students... 1. should have a well-developed Christian view of culture, society, and humanity 2. should be able explain the difference between the Christian view of the world and non-Christian views of it. 3. should be able to see how Jesus Christ forms the center of the Christian view of the world
