MACROECONOMICS

  1. Course Description
    Students will deal with the issues of growth, inflation and unemployment, and with national economic policies relating to these issues, and the effects of government actions (such as changing taxation levels) on them.
  2. Course Objectives
    After taking this subject, students should be able (1) to understand major macroeconomic issues including GDP, CPI, inflation, unemployment, monetary policy, etc, (2) to be equipped with basic tools for analysing those issues, (3) to be able to participate in the related debates.
  3. Teachnig Method
    Each week the first block will be primarily used for lecture purposes while the second half will be of multipurpose.
    The multi purpose can be, as the name suggests, used for various purposes such as extending lectures, discussions, presentation, etc.

    Students enrolled for this particular course are encouraged to participate in the class by reading prescribed materials.
    Prerequsite: Principles of microeconomics or any level of microeconomics

    This course can be effectively utilized for students to understand correctly how a nation's economy functions.
