GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT CHANGE

이 강의는 지구 온난화, 해양 산성화, 삼림 벌채 및 오존층 파괴와 같은 현재의 인위적 변화를 강조하면서 지구 환경 변화, 과거와 현재 변화의 차이, 미래의 예상 변화를 이해하는 것을 목표로 한다.

- Understand and explain the causes and consequences of overpopulation, energy consumption, global warming, air/water pollution, and the decline of biodiversity. - Develop a basic vocabulary of environmental studies terminology, such as understanding concepts of sustainability, ecological footprint, biodiversity, ecosystem services, etc. - Develop an appreciation for, and understanding of, the complexity of our wonderful planet. - Describe the relationship between the geological and climatic development of the Earth. - Give an account of natural climatic and environmental changes which have occurred over different time scales. - Account for the effect of climate change on the environment and on society and how society works with the effects of climate change and climate adaptation.

There are no specific requirements for this class, and students from all backgrounds are welcome to enroll—even if your English skills are basic. This course is a great opportunity to improve your English while learning new content. What matters most to me is that you make an effort to follow the lectures. I will provide the slides in both English and Korean to support your understanding, and you are always welcome to ask questions—regardless of your English level. We can also use body language or tools like Papago to help with communication when needed. 이 수업에는 특별한 수강 요건이 없으며, 영어 실력이 기본 수준이더라도 모든 배경을 가진 학생들이 자유롭게 수강할 수 있습니다. 이 수업은 새로운 내용을 배우면서 영어 실력을 향상시킬 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것입니다. 제가 가장 중요하게 생각하는 것은 여러분이 강의를 따라가기 위해 노력하는 것입니다. 이해를 돕기 위해 강의 슬라이드는 영어와 한국어로 모두 제공될 예정이며, 영어 실력과 관계없이 언제든지 질문하셔도 좋습니다. 필요하다면 바디랭귀지나 Papago 같은 번역 도구를 활용하여 소통할 수도 있습니다.
