POLITICAL PROCESS

Designed for the students of Political Science or Public Policy to introduce the concepts, theories, and analysis of the political process from the stage of policy formulation to decision-making. Major elements include: political culture, public opinion, mass media, political participation, election, interest groups, political parties, legislative process, cabinet meetings, etc. These elements will be examined in terms of their structural features and functional interactions as well.

1. Students will study regime types in democracy. 2. Students will study electoral system and representation in comparative perspectives. 3. Students will learn theories and reality of political parties. 4. students will understand comparative democracies.

Lectures will be delivered. Active class participation is required. Students should select an article and present it with summary and discussion issues. The weekly schedule and reading materials may change to adjust the number of students enrolled. The topic of the final paper is free to choose; class-related. You need to get pre-approval for the final paper topic.
