SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY

  1. Course Description
    사회를 이해하기 위해서는 사회를 구성하고 있는 개인을 알아야 하지만, 또한 사회적 존재인 인간을 올바로 파악하기 위해서는 사회에 관한 충분한 이해가 병행되어야 한다. 본 강의는 개인과 사회의 문제를 심리학적 관점을 접합시켜 이해할 수 있는 능력을 함양하여 사회문제에 대한 시각을 넓히는 데 그 목적이 있다.
  2. Course Objectives
    1. Know the main theories of social psychology in relation to cognitive and behavioral phenomena. 3. Analyze the complexity of actions in social contexts by combining personal and situational factors. 4. Describe situational factors that constrain human action. 5. Describe social factors that influence personal motivations. 6. Analyze current events using social psychological theories or concepts. 7. Examine the effects of implicit and explicit biases on perception and behavior.
  3. Teachnig Method
    The use of cell phones in class is prohibited unless it is for academic purposes Students are expected to be attentive, fully engaged, and actively participating in group and class discussions. Points will be deducted for distraction and inactivity during class. Approximately 30% of class time will be spent on group activities, meaning you will be talking, discussing, and debating as a team. If you are not interested in class activities and discussions, this is not a good course for you. There will be a midterm exam and a final exam that all students must take. Each exam will cover half of the course and is in English. The exams will consist of multiple choice questions and short-answer questions. Instructions for the assignment will be posted on the CTL during the first week. All important announcements and deadlines will be posted on the CTL.
