유럽의 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화, 예술 분야와 관련된 시사적인 내용의 영어자료를 교재로 사용함으로써 시사영어문장을 익히고, 아울러 최근 유럽사회에 대한 분석력을 높힌다.
- Course Objectives
This course analyses current affairs and issues within and outside of the European Union, which have an impact on it.
In this semester, you will be able to formulate a perspective on threats and opportunities for the European Union, and create/share/discuss your personal perspective on current and ongoing issues within and about the future of the EU.
In this semester, we will cover 6 themes. Your class will be able to pick these themes from a provided list.
Example list:
- Sovereignty
- Human Rights
- Democracy
- Labour
- Trade
- Religion
- Migration
- Refugees
- Federalism
- National Identity
- European Union
- Environment
- Tourism
- Welfare state
- Education
- Defense/Security
- International Organizations (e.g. NATO, UN, WTO, etc.)
- Terrorism
Etc.
Each theme = 4 classes
For example:
Theme: Refugees
Class 1: Introduction
Class 2: Current Stories in the News
Class 3: Share & Discuss your perspective (Q&A)
Class 4: Review
Students will be required to:
Listen to Lectures.
Engage in Discussions about Lecture contents – share & discuss your perspectives (Q&A).
Take a Mid Term & Final Exam.
