도서관사회학적 관점에서 도서관의 속성과 기능 등을 포괄적으로 이해한다. 역사적으로 사회 발전과 변동과정에 미친 도서관의 역할과 기능을 살피고, 사회의 제반 영역과 도서관 발전의 상관관계를 실제 사례와 이슈를 중심으로 탐구한다.
- Course Objectives
Libraries have been an integral part of human society for centuries. However, the roles of libraries continue to evolve due to changes in our society. This course is designed to help students broaden perspectives by understanding the modern concept of society and the library.
Topics covered in this course include:
-the library-related issues from a historical perspective.
-the role of libraries in a particular culture of society
-the role of libraries in promoting diversity
-the role of libraries in education
-the role of libraries in preserving culture and knowledge
-library-related policies and laws and their impact on libraries.
