CULTURE AND SOCIETY OF TODAY'S GERMANY(LECTURE IN ENGLISH)

  1. Course Description
    This course gives a broad view of the public life of today's Germany. Selected examples from politics, economy, culture and sports will help us to develop a manifold picture of German society in the age of globalization. Dieses Seminar liefert eine breite ?bersicht Uber das offentliche Leben im gegenwartigen Deutschland. An ausgewahlten Beispielen aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Kultur und Sport soll ein moglichst vielf?ltiges Bild der gesellschaftlichen Situation Deutschlands im Zeitalter der Globalisierung erarbeitet werden.
  2. Course Objectives
    Knowledge about Germany and German Society since 1989.
  3. Teachnig Method
    Advanced knowledge of English OR German as well as regular participation is necessary. Absence or being late has negative influence on grading. Each student will have to write a short protocol of one of the class meetings in English or German. This will count as midterm test. The final exam will contain questions on class content.
