CITY AND ENVIRONMENT

  1. Course Description
    본 과목은 현대 인류의 화두인 환경과 인간의 공존을 위한 공간이 어떠한 특성을 가지는지, 환경친화적인 도시, 교통 및 조경의 관점에서 소개한다.
  2. Course Objectives
    - Learn the definition of the concept of environment and its evolution in relation to cities - Understand the importance of the environment in urban spaces - Understand the environmental risks our society faces from a global and urban perspective - Learn the many ways in which the environment, the people and cities are connected
  3. Teachnig Method
    - 16 weeks of classes - Lectures, class discussions and video presentations are part of the teaching process - Lectures content and all other class material are available on the Center for Teaching and Learning website (http://ctl.kmu.ac.kr) - Discussions and questions/answers with the students to improve the understanding of the lecture content - During class, activities are given in order to review elements of theory

  6. Requiments
    - No specific theory knowledge about the environment and cities is needed - Show up to class on time - Actively participate in class activities
  7. Practical application of the course
    This theory class is a first look into the role and importance of the environment in urban spaces. It will help to prepare students for future theory and practice classes by introducing the main concepts related to the environment for urban studies.
