BASIC ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

설계 초기단계에서 완결하기까지 과정을 체계적으로 보여 주며, 건축적 아이디어를 글과 말 그림으로 표현할 수 있는 구사능력을 키우고 미디어를 사용하여 설계에 연결시킬 수 있도록 한다. 또한 각종 건축도서 및 보고서를 간결하고 명쾌하게 작성할 수 있으며, 적절하게 발표할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 공학인증에서 요구되는 창의적 공학설계의 요소를 포함하여 이수하도록 한다

The course objective is to learn the basics of design problem solving, through analysis and research as well as 2 practical exercises. Basic Architectural Design is an introductory exploration of design and architectural design. As a first introduction to design, it will cover a wide range of aspects from ‘design thinking and creation (design process, creativity)', ‘research (site, precedents, case studies)’ to ‘representation (model making, sketching, architectural drawing, graphic presentations, poster layout)'. The course will offer ‘theoretical ideas’ on the subjects and expect students to apply them in ‘basic practical designing’ in 1 individual and 1 group assignment.

Basic understanding of English is required (listening, speaking, writing). Students with lower English skills will be requested to study a specific list of words/concepts related to architectural design to improve the communication in English. Active participation is requested during the class. Some work between the classes will be requested.

Architectural engineers are involved in the planning and design of the architectural projects; this Basic course will begin to introduce the basic concepts required (in terms of design, development, representation ...) This course will allow the students to be aware of the basic parameters necessary to prepare them to participate in the creative process of architectural design.
