- Course Description
This course is intended to give students a “real” production experience of making music videos. Students will learn about the numerous ways of telling stories and promoting songs/artists through this medium. They will work with a group of peers in producing a professional quality music video as the final project. They will conceptualize, pre- produce, and edit content-legal music videos.
» Students will learn how to produce a music video from script to screen.
» Students will apply the art and craft of cinematic montage to creative storytelling.
» Students will learn to create powerful and meaningful cinematic images.
- Course Objectives
Students will:
1.1 Work with an Artist to develop a concept for a video.
1.2 Discuss the basic differences between a concept video and a performance video
2.1 Discuss and demonstrate multi-camera production techniques
2.2 Demonstrate lighting for multi-cam and stage production
3.1 Demonstrate a basic ability to synchronize audio and video clips
3.2 Discuss techniques for keeping multiple cameras and audio all in sync

- The class will be taught in English.
- The class will be held by watching and analyzing different types of music videos.

- Participation of events for personal development is acceptable.
- Attendance accepted for missing class due to COVID. For other sicknesses, medical documents need to be submitted.
- At least one third of attendance is required for a passing grade (under the condition that the student completed the class project.)
- For the evaluation, "attitude" refers to paying attention in class and "participation" refers to reaching out for advice in the pre-planning process of the project.
