ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY(1)

  1. Course Description
  2. Course Objectives
    • By the end of this course students able to acquire knowledge on basic chemistry, and be able analyze and solve problems, understand relationships, and interpret scientific facts and data. • Learning chemistry allows students to learn about the scientific method and gain skills in critical thinking, deductive reasoning, problem-solving, and communication. • In particular, the Active Learning Questions, found at the end of each chapter, provide excellent material for collaborative work by students. In addition, we have connected chemistry to real-life experience at every opportunity, from chapter-opening discussions of chemical applications to “Chemistry in Focus” features throughout the course.
  3. Teachnig Method
Students Should have more than 85% of the attendance. If a student comes late by 3 times, it is considered as one absent. The absence of the quiz exam cannot be reconsidered. However, in case of unavoidable circumstances (illness or injury), a separate evaluation shall be conducted.

  6. Requiments
Any students from the biology, science and engineering are welcome.
  7. Practical application of the course
Chemistry plays an important and useful role in the development and growth of a number of industries. This includes industries like glass, cement, paper, textile, leather, dye etc. We also see huge applications of chemistry in industries like paints, pigments, petroleum, sugar, plastics, and Pharmaceuticals.
