- Course Description
이 과정은 학생들의 비판적 사고 능력을 개발하고, 대학 수준 이상에서 영어를 효과적으로 사용하는 데 필요한 기술을 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이에 따라, 다양한 현대적 주제에 대한 의미있는 토론을 진행할 수 있는 능력을 향상시키려고 한다. 또한, 학생들의 어휘와 언어 자원을 개발하여 자신의 관점을 더 효과적으로 표현하고 의미 있는 발표를 할 수 있도록 하려고 한다. 이 과정의 또 다른 목표는 다양한 대화 전략의 개발을 통해 학생들이 대화 상호작용을 더 능숙하게 관리할 수 있도록 돕는 것이다.
- Course Objectives
This course aims to develop students' critical thinking abilities and to provide them with the skills necessary to to use English effectively at the university level and beyond. As such, it seeks to enhance their ability to conduct meaningful discussions on a variety of contemporary topics. In addition, it seeks to develop students' vocabulary and language resources to more effectively express their points of view and give meaningful presentations. A further goal of the course is to help the students become more skilled at managing conversational interactions through the development of a variety of conversational strategies.
- Teachnig Method
As this class will be very much focused on communication, it is important that students are present in class. Absences will result in a loss of marks. It is also expected that they will focus on using English in their communicative interactions and that they will show a willingness to work together with other students to develop their communicative abilities.

This is an English-language classroom. As such, students should be willing to express themselves predominantly in English. They should also be willing to participate actively in class and to interact with both each other and the instructor. As this is a conversation course, students' contributions in class will have a key bearing on their final grade. As such, consistent effort will be required throughout the course.
- Practical application of the course
This course will provide students with an understanding of the skills and strategies that are required to communicate effectively in English, both in a social and an academic context. It will begin the process of refocusing on English as a language of communication rather than as a test subject. As such, students will be better able not just to present their ideas in English but to also critically evaluate their language needs and performance. In addition, they will gain an appreciation of a variety of contemporary topics and issues and be able to use this knowledge to express their personal points of view on a range of issues.
